Laser Scar Removal

Laser resurfacing refers to a treatment for reducing facial wrinkles and other irregularities in the skin, such as blemishes or acne scars.

Many men and women who have had severe acne during their lives are often left with deep, depressed scars that do not go away without treatment. Acne scars leave profound negative psychological effects on any individual. Acne scar improvement requires special combination of treatments. At Revive Clinic, we have a variety of advanced laser treatments to address nearly all types of acne scars.

These include:

  • Glass laser: it is a non-invasive way to treat acne scars. This laser does not cut or remove skin surface so there is no down time means you can return to your normal activities on the same day.
  • CO2 laser resurfacing: It is unique in that it does not remove all the top layer at once and actually remove columns of skin, therefore recovery time is shorter which is about four to seven days.

Recovery and results

After the laser procedure, the doctor will bandage the area which has been treated. You will have to clean the treated region four to five times a day. Then, apply an ointment, such as petroleum jelly, to prevent the formation of scabs. Usually, the areas heal in about 10 to 21 days, based on the condition that was treated.

You might also experience swelling after laser skin resurfacing. The doctor may prescribe steroids for reducing the swelling around your eyes. Applying an ice pack on the treated region also helps to reduce swelling in the first 24 to 48 hours following laser resurfacing
